Gorgeous looks, impressive performance & handling, decent overall range and some HRE Wheels grace this Matte Black Porsche Taycan Turbo S, creating a unique looking EV build
I’ll honestly admit, there is almost nothing better than a Matte Black Porsche. Whether a 918 Cayman, 911 Turbo, a Panamera or the all-new Taycan, they all look like something out of an evil genius’ garage. And this Matte Black Porsche Taycan Turbo S from HRE Wheels is the epitome of menacing and aggressive, pulling a great look for this EV.
The Taycan Turbo S features two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors – one on each axle. Furthermore, the vehicle features an 800-volt performance battery integrated deep into the underbody. It allows the vehicle to use up to 761 horsepower, thanks to an overboost function, activated with launch control, allowing the Taycan Turbo S to fly off the line from a standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in just 2.8 seconds.
In addition to impressive performance, the vehicle is able to achieve a 388 – 412 kilometers (241 – 256 miles) combined WLTP range. Well, in ideal scenarios. We’ve been seeing reports of far less range achieved through some performance driving. Yes, you basically get a great luxury daily driver with moderate range, but also, a vehicle that handles exceptionally well. Something that’s well-known for Porsche cars and pretty much a given when you buy them.
While everyone will compare the Taycan to a Tesla Model S – and that may be a fair comparison – this car certainly has its own appeal and brings some different things to the table. However, seeing the performance of the new Model S Plaid, one can clearly imagine that the advantage between legacy carmakers in terms of power & handling is ever increasing. And that’s not a bad thing at all.
This Matte Black Porsche Taycan Turbo S comes courtesy of HRE Wheels. It’s equipped with a set of HRE P201 monoblock forged wheels. These come sized 22×9.5 in the front and 22×11.5 in the rear and are adorned with a Matte Black finish. As a result, this wheel setup works great against the PCCB (Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes) and their gorgeous yellow brake calipers.
