The Porsche Taycan features a set of custom-made HRE P101SC forged concave monoblock wheels

The Porsche Taycan is definitely an electric vehicle we’ve all been eager about. Promising impressive handling & breathtaking performance – just like every other Porsche, ever. In a nutshell, the Taycan was supposed to be the first handling and performance-oriented EV to be released to the market, and one coming from a company that made its name with cars that handle impressively well. And while some may throw 0-100km/h (0-62mph) times as the most relevant thing ever, sheer straight-line speed is not the most important aspect of a great car. Not that the Taycan lacks in that area. In the end, for most of us, this vehicle gives us a good look into how the electrified high-performance world will look like. And judging by the rave reviews the Taycan got ever since its release, it does its job as a high-performance, drivers-oriented EV pretty damn great – not surprisingly.

For Porsche, the Taycan is a vehicle that’s fully ready for the future, most notably due to its innovative total concept. The vehicle is characterized by the features that have always been decisive for any Porsche: pure emotion and maximum driving pleasure. Well, pretty much like every Porsche that left the factory floor ever since Ferdinand Porsche started the company back in the day. And certainly, the vehicle is one of the best looking EVs ever to be revealed. And that says a lot.

The Taycan Turbo S features two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors – one on each axle. Furthermore, the vehicle features an 800-volt performance battery integrated deep into the underbody. It allows the vehicle to use up to 761 horsepower, thanks to an overboost function, activated with launch control, allowing the Taycan Turbo S to fly off the line from a standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in just 2.8 seconds.

Finally, the vehicle is able to achieve a 388 – 412 kilometers (241 – 256 miles) combined WLTP range. Well, in ideal scenarios. We’ve been seeing reports of far less range achieved through some performance driving. And while that might not be the topic of discussion within this article, its range issues might hamper its quest on beating Tesla in some areas. Just like every other “Tesla Killer” in the recent few years. Nonetheless, the Taycan is still a gorgeous looking, high-performance EV that will give the driver insurmountable levels of thrill and enjoyment.

Although this is simply put a gorgeous looking, performance-oriented electric vehicle, for some, that simply might ain’t enough. This is where companies like HRE Wheels come in. The California-based wheelmaker has built a set of custom-made HRE P101SC wheels for this vehicle. Furthermore, for this build, the wheels come in the OEM 21×9.5 and 21×11.5 sizes in the front and rear, respectively. The wheels feature Pirelli P-Zero tires, sized 265/35/21, and 305/30/21 in the front and rear, respectively. Finally, the wheels feature a gorgeous Brushed Dark Clear finish, giving the final exclamation point for this wheel setup.

We spoke with HRE Wheels earlier today and they confirm that some weight was shaven off on each four corners. However, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation to find out the correct weight-loss data for this wheel set. Meanwhile, you can feast your eyes on a beautiful beach photoshoot by Linhbergh Nguyen, giving you a detailed look at one of the first custom forged wheel setups for the Porsche Taycan right below.
