The new Audi RS4 Avant is out. The somewhat quirky design is slowly growing on us and Audi decided to give us a detailed media gallery of their upcoming high-performance touring car. Just as with the Audi RS5 Coupe, the 2018 Audi RS4 Avant drops the naturally aspirated V8 engine in favor of a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 delivering 444hp (450PS) and 443lb-ft (600Nm) of torque. With the RS4 Avant, these figures allow the vehicle to sprint from 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint in just 4.1 seconds, while its top speed is, as usual, electronically limited to 155mph (250km/h). Additionally, owners can opt for the RS Dynamic Package, what makes Audi raise the top speed limit to a whopping 174mph (280km/h).

The 2018 Audi RS4 Avant features the eight-speed automatic transmission (gone is the dual-clutch gearbox) and the famed Quattro all-wheel-drive system. In the RS4 Avant, the Quattro sends up to 60 percent of the power to the rear wheels in normal conditions and comes with an electronically controlled rear sport differential. In turn, the Rs4 Avant will certainly be an entertaining vehicle, hitting those limits with ease and allowing for some fun high-performance driving.

The exterior saw Audi add aggressive bodywork that makes the RS4 Avant look aggressive; the 30mm (1.2 inches) wider wheel arches, paying attention to the 1989 Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO racer. The front sees a more aggressive single-frame grille, accompanied by massive air intakes, making its high-performance nature clearly visible. To finish off the look, you’ll find a set of 19 or 20 inch wheels.

Been in the automotive industry ever since he got out of high school. Loves 911s, and everything BMW makes, even the new cars. He also enjoys racing events, even as a spectator, hanging on the side of the pit wall and taking pictures and drinking espresso that makes want to write more. Too tall to drive almost any supercar, but that doesn't stop him from bashing out people that do. Follows the aftermarket tuning industry in depth. Loves to spend time at BMW Welt. Enjoys too much coffee.
