Matte Blue BMW i8 Gets ADV.1 Advanced Series Forged Wheels
The high-performance hybrid machine is adorned with a set of custom-made ADV.1 three-piece concave forged wheels
Even though the vehicle was released back in 2015, the BMW i8 is one of the best looking high-performance machines available on the market today. The vehicle was envisioned by BMW i8 as the next logical step forward in the evolution of the sports car. It comes with a powerful hybrid powertrain and an impressive fuel economy. However, the BMW i8 is no slouch performance wise.
The powertrain, developed specifically for the BMW i8, is a combination of a 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine and electric motors, powering all four wheels. The combustion engine develops 170 kW/231 hp and drives the rear wheels of the BMW i8.
Furthermore, there is a 96 kW/131 hp electric drive as well, sending its power to the front wheels allowing for an all-electric range of up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph). Thanks to this powertrain combination, the BMW i8 will accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.2 seconds. The hybrid is capable of going all the way up to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph (250km/h). In turn, it’s no real surprise that the i8 is a popular vehicle in the aftermarket tuning world that attracts loads of prying eyes.
This particular BMW i8 comes courtesy of ADV.1 Wheels. Built for their partake in the 2018 Gumball 3000 Rally in Japan, the vehicle features a Matte Blue exterior wrap and a set of newly-revealed ADV510 Advanced Series three-piece forged wheels installed.
The wheels are sized 22×9 and 22×10.5 in the front and rear, respectively. The finish is a combination of Fine Textured Gunmetal centers and exterior color matching Polished Matte Blue lips. A rather unique and attention-grabbing combination, that’s for sure. Furthermore, the wheels are adorned with a 50/50 Titanium Hardware option, further lowering the overall wheel weight, but also, cleaning the design of the wheels as well.
