Silver Flare Metallic Corvette C8 With Vossen Hybrid Forged HF-7 Wheels
The Corvette C8 is the eight-generation of the much-famed vehicle which, alongside the Ford Mustang, is probably the epitome of American muscle cars, where this particular beautiful example received a set of Vossen HF-7 wheels, making it an even more attractive vehicle altogether
With the advent of more and more fully electric vehicle models from various car makers, the sight of a naturally aspirated, V8-powered monster like the Corvette C8 certainly is a fresh one. And for the most part, we’re seeing more and more aftermarket tuned projects with this vehicle. For the now eight-generation of Corvette, the American carmaker went with an evolutionary change for their flagship model: a switch was made from front-engine car architecture to a mid-engined one. In turn, this marks Chevy’s venture into the higher-end of the performance car market.
The car is powered by a new naturally aspirated 6.2 L V8 engine, rated at 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque – an improvement of 40 horsepower and 10 lb-ft (14 Nm) over the outgoing C7 Corvette Stingray.
To make matters even more compelling, the C8 is the first vehicle that comes without a manual transmission Corvette option from Chevrolet in several decades. While the manual was dropped due to a lack of customer demand first and foremost, Corvette also cited structural concerns for the removal of a manual transmission system in this generation. The only other Chevrolet model years not offered with a manual transmission were the 1953–1954 C1 and the 1982 C3.
In the Corvette C8, the engine is utilized in sync with an 8-speed dual-clutch automated transmission made by Tremec, which also comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. This allows the Corvette of this generation to sprint from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 2.9 seconds when equipped with the optional Z51 package. That’s according to factory-published data. However, when Car and Driver tested the car, they managed to achieve a recorded time of just 2.8 seconds. Pretty impressive, whatever we might say.
Adding a perfect aftermarket touch, thanks to a set of Vossen Hybrid Forged HF-7 wheels, finished in a beautiful Gloss Black finish
For the owner of this sweet-looking Silver Flare Metallic Corvette C8, a slight aftermarket touch was needed to make this vehicle pop up even more. The owner went with a set of Vossen HF-7 Hybrid Forged Series wheels. And starting at $649 per wheel, these are some of the most affordable wheels available on the market today.
This particular wheel is derived from its forged counterpart, the EVO-5R. With pocketed spokes and an aggressive split-spoke design, the HF-7 is available in 2 standard finishes and 4 custom finishes. Furthermore, thanks to the robotic custom HF program, Vossen can build personalized fitments and bolt patterns, creating a set that fits almost any vehicle out there.
For this Corvette, the wheels are sized 20×9 in the front and 21×12 in the rear. The wheels come with a classic Gloss Black finish option, an understated albeit perfectly fitting finish that works well against the Torch Red exterior paint of this American muscle car seen here.
