The 2019 Mercedes-AMG E53 is coming to the U.S. later in the year. It will feature a completely new engine, a 48V electrical system, fully variable all-wheel drive, larger brakes, and more equipment features. In a nutshell, this vehicle will be the entry-level E-Series AMG model, bringing all the high-performance luxury goodies and impressive driving dynamics.

The centerpiece of the new E 53 Sedan is the electrified 3.0 Liter in-line 6 Twin-Turbo Engine, complete with EQ Boost featuring an electric auxiliary compressor. The inline-six powerplant churns out a whopping 435 horsepower and 520Nm (384lb-ft) of peak torque, harnessed through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the fully variable all-wheel drive AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system. In turn, the Mercedes-AMG E53 is able to sprint from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in just 4.5 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph).

The fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive combines optimal traction for dynamic driving fun with a high level of driving safety in all conditions: in the dry, in the wet or in the snow. The transition from rear-wheel to all-wheel drive and vice versa is seamless, as intelligent control is integrated into the overall vehicle system architecture. Furthermore, thanks to support by the EQ Boost starter-alternator, the six-cylinder engine delivers power instantaneously, giving the driver an immediate response without turbo lag. An additional bonus is the high level of refinement of the six-cylinder in-line engine.

For the interior, the gorgeous and luxury theme is kept throughout the beautifully made cockpit, giving both the driver and the passengers a premium feel. The interior is a synthesis of exclusivity and sportiness that is emphasized by the available AMG Performance Seats with an AMG-specific upholstery layout, also available with the AMG Carbon Fiber trim. The standard Widescreen Cockpit includes a really, really large display that features a cluster of virtual instruments in the direct field of vision of the driver, alongside a 12.3-inch central display above the center console for the infotainment system. Visually, the two displays under one shared glass cover blend into a Widescreen Cockpit and consequently emphasize the horizontal orientation of the interior design. Truly a remarkable view for anyone in either the driver or the passenger seats.

The new Mercedes-AMG E 53 Sedan joins the new AMG E 53 Coupe and Cabriolet models, while it replaces the previous AMG E 43 Sedan model. The AMG E 53 Sedan will be available as a 2019 model year in the U.S. by late 2018. You can grab a detailed view at the 2019 Mercedes-AMG E53 in the media gallery right below.
